Home Stereo Speakers for Sale

Do People Still Use Large Stereo Systems?

Yes, people who love high-quality sound, also known as audiophiles, are some of the biggest supporters of large at-home stereo systems. People who enjoy immersive surround sound while watching movies and TV shows also enjoy multi-speaker stereo systems.

Electronic Express has its roots in home audio. To this day we still carry industry-leading speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, audio-video receivers, audio cables, and speaker wires. We also carry some starter hi-fi stereo system bundles for people discovering the world of serious audio.

Home Stereo Equipment

Speakers

  • Bookshelf speakers - Small speakers that are usually made with two drivers, a woofer and a tweeter, that produce low and high frequencies respectively.
  • Floor-standing speakers - Larger speakers with 3+ drivers for creating a powerful high-quality audio setup.
  • Subwoofers - Also called sub speakers, they produce thumping deep bass beats that you can feel in your bones.
  • Wireless surround speakers - Easily incorporate these speakers into your home stereo setup without placing audio cables and wires. Serious audiophiles prefer wired speakers, but wireless speakers offer increasingly competitive sound quality.
What Are Good Brands For Speakers?

Electronic Express carries speakers from industry-leading brands like Klipsch, Polk Audio, Bose, Bowers & Wilkins, KLH Audio, and more!

How Do I Know If I've Found A Good Speaker?

You can evaluate the speaker's quality and how it will fit into your home stereo system by looking at a few specifications.

  • Hertz - The lower this number is the better the base frequency response will be.
  • Watts - This is the speaker's power handling capacity or how much power the speaker can convert into sound without damaging its components.
  • Sensitivity - This measures how efficiently the speaker produces volume from power and is an important specification for choosing an amplifier.

Amplifiers and Home Stereo Receivers

This is the base that connects and supplies power to all of your speakers and audio sources. When shopping for a new home stereo you'll want to look at the following specifications.

  • Overall power output
  • Total harmonic distortion
  • Signal-to-noise ratio
  • Crosstalk

You'll also want to look at how many audio inputs the amp has so you can connect each piece of your speaker system.

What is a Receiver?

A receiver is almost the same thing as an amplifier, except it has a built-in radio tuner. If you want to use your stereo system for a home theater, then you'll need an audio-visual receiver (AV receiver).

Do Powered Speakers Need an Amplifier?

Powered speakers have a built-in amp so you can connect them to an audio source right away without running them through a separate amp. "Active speakers" and "powered monitors" are other names for powered speakers that you might find while shopping.

Does Electronic Express Have Audio Cables For Home Stereos?

Yes! We carry all kinds of home audio and video cables including RCA cables, 3.5 mm cables, speaker wires, and HDMI cables. We also carry plenty of audio cable adapters for fine-tuning your setup.
