THX Certified Select Theater Reference Sound
THX Certified Select guarantees the same high-volume sound you experience at a commercial theater in your home. To gain certification, amplifiers must pass the industry’s most severe bench-tests covering every aspect of audio performance to satisfy THX requirements. With 220 W per channel at your disposal, the TX-NR777 is ready to fill large spaces with heartpounding sound.
Made for Control and Custom Installation
The TX-NR777 includes system integration connectivity such as RS232 with support for 2-way communication with 3rd party home automation systems. An infrared (IR) input allows pass-through of IR signals to control other devices connected to the TX-NR777, such as a TV or Blu-ray player. The 12 volt trigger can be used to raise/lower a projection screen, power on/off an external amplifier or open/close the drapes with the touch of a button. A detachable power cord and an optional rack mount kit make for easy installation.

Smooth Analog Signal
Onkyo developed Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) to reassemble the audio signal to its original form following processing. Unlike conventional filters, VLSC removes pulse noise generated in D/A conversion, allowing the sound wave to be reproduced with extremely high fidelity for a smooth analog signal.
FireConnect Wireless Multi-room Audio
FireConnect mirrors network audio and external analog sources connected to a master component—from streaming services to vinyl records—on FireConnect-compatible speakers in other rooms. Music selection, speaker grouping, and playback management across the home are built into Onkyo Controller app for iOS and Android.
Powered Zone 2A/2B Audio Distribution
With a 5.2-channel layout in the media room, Powered Zone 2A/2B speaker outputs send amplified network, S/PDIF, and analog audio sources to pairs of speakers in other spaces. For 5.2.2 theater layouts, a line output is ideal for transmitting stereo sources available to the receiver to a hi-fi or amp and speakers set up elsewhere in the home. Multi-room playback is supported within Onkyo Controller app.
Unleash Dolby Atmos or DTS:X Home Theater
Object-based soundtracks allow independently mixed sound to play through any speaker in your system, moving above and around you with breathtaking realism. The TX-NR777 reproduces 5.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos or DTS:X formats, with AccuReflex correcting the phase of direct and indirect sounds for cohesive audio imaging with Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.
Upmixing Solutions for Legacy Soundtracks
DTS Neural:X identifies spatial effects in multichannel soundtracks upmixes for 3D playback through object-audio-ready speaker systems. Dolby Surround also upmixes legacy sound formats so you can experience multidimensional playback of legacy sound formats in a Dolby Atmos environment.
