A big leap forward for backlighting
In the past few years, the very best LED TVs have used an advanced type of backlight called full-array with local dimming (FALD). Samsung's 2021 Neo QLEDs take this already sophisticated panel technology to another level by using Mini LEDs that are about 40 times smaller than conventional LEDs. That means they can pack a lot more of them in, giving the QN43QN90A a way punchier picture than its predecessors.
Samsung pairs this dense array of tiny LEDs with their Quantum Matrix technology to deliver incredibly precise light control for wide contrast and more realistic shadow detail. It can also reduce blooming” — or those pesky halos you sometimes see around bright objects on dark backgrounds.
Rich color and detail
Samsung's QLED sets are known for bright, vivid colors that pop off the screen, even in the brightest of rooms. HDR content is going to look stunning, but you don't need a premium signal to enjoy excellent picture quality.
The QN90A's Neo Quantum Processor 4K uses Artificial Intelligence to optimize your experience for all kinds of sources. Content is analyzed scene by scene against its built-in database of images to create a sharper picture with realistic texture and detail.
Smart control options
Samsung's already excellent remote got an eco-friendly upgrade this year. The new SolarCell Remote™ has a built-in solar cell that is sensitive enough to keep the battery charged using the basic indoor lights in your home. This simple change could keep millions of batteries out of the landfill and save you a trip to the store.
Like prior Samsung remotes, this version makes it easy to control all your connected devices. It also has a button to activate your choice of included voice assistants: Bixby, Google, or Alexa.
