Top Loaders, Front Load, and High-Efficiency Washers

The difference between your standard Top Load/Front Load and the HE Top Load/Front Load is that HE stands for High-Efficiency. For a washer to be considered a High-Efficiency washer, it must be more efficient in its performance. They reduce the amount of energy and water needed to clean a load of laundry. HE Top Load Washers do not have an agitator, which allows the washer to clean your close more gently. On top of that, HE washers are typically much larger than normal washers, being up to 40% bigger than them.
