Factory and aftermarket car stereos simply don't supply enough power to run subwoofers, and this is where car amps come into play. A car amplifier connects directly to your car's battery to supply ample power so your subwoofers can produce low end bass. Car amplifiers for subs are available as 1-channel (mono) to power one subwoofer, or 2-channel to power two subwoofers.
