Nikon preparing digital camera innovation
Keywords: Point & Shoot Digital Cameras
SLR camera leader Nikon is planning a series of releases for next month likely to change the standards of SLR photography, according to IT-Chuiko.com. Particularly, the D3100 will include features typically reserved for Nikon's more high-end models, but is expected to cost substantially less.
Professional photographers and more advanced hobbyists will like the D3100 for reasons beyond its lower cost; the device also contains autofocus capability for shooting high-definition video. Novice hobbyists still using a Nikon point-and-shoot-camera may have the ideal opportunity to upgrade to SLR due to the D3100 low price. Earlier this year, Nikon announced the release of its newest Coolpix model, and its latest product only continues the year of innovation in the digital photography market.
A report recently released by IDC detailed the ongoing trends within the digital photography market. It has grown 3 percent in each of the last two years and will likely continue to rise through 2012. For companies to consistently move items, innovation will help them compete and attract new customers. As more companies release items with high capability at a lower cost, new technology will likely take over the higher end of the market.
